# Tailoring the Legal Framework

Switch off topics that do not apply to your organisation, per department.

The Legal Framework is built from financial licences. A licence, and the framework that comes with it, can be broader than what your organisation actually does. Rather than leave irrelevant topics unassessed, you can switch them off per department, so they no longer generate alerts or appear in the scores.

### Enter edit mode

Click the **pencil** button below the page title. The marks next to profiles and departments become editable.

### Expand to topic level

Use the arrow to the left of a profile to show its themes, and the arrow next to a theme to show its topics.

### Switch topics on or off

Untick a topic under a department to switch it off for that department. For example, an organisation that does not use electronic signatures switches off the topic *Electronic signature* under *Controlled operations*.

### Save

Click **Save**.

Work through all themes and topics this way and the framework fits your organisation. You will not receive alerts or other notifications for topics you have switched off.

Switching a topic off is different from **Do not assess** on the topic page. Switching off removes the topic from the department entirely, including alerts. Do not assess keeps the topic visible but leaves it out of the assessment scores.
