# Your dashboard

What you see when you log in, and how to make the dashboard show what matters to you.

When you log in to Ruler you land on the homepage, which is your dashboard. It gives you an overview of everything happening in your Ruler account: how many alerts arrived recently, which tasks are open, what is coming up on the Radar, and how far your organisation is with assessing its topics.

## Widgets

The dashboard is built from widgets. You choose which widgets appear and in what order, so every user can build a dashboard that fits their role.

Available widgets:

| Widget | What it shows |

Most widgets are clickable. Clicking a widget takes you to the part of Ruler it summarises.

## Export widget

The Export widget is only available to account administrators. It lets you export components of Ruler, such as Tasks or the Radar, to Excel. You can export for the department you are working in or for all departments.

This is useful when you want to share items with colleagues who do not have access to Ruler, or when you need the data for reporting.

## Switching between accounts

If you have access to several customer accounts, you will see a **switch** button in the menu. It takes you back to the account overview, where you choose which account to work in.

## Where next

* [Navigating Ruler](/getting-started/navigating-ruler.md) explains the menu and the action buttons.
* [User roles and access](/getting-started/roles-and-access.md) explains why some colleagues see different things than you do.
