# Release notes

What changed in each version of Ruler.

Ruler's version number is shown at the bottom of the menu that opens when you click the gear icon at the bottom left of the screen. When it changes, an update has been released. Click the version number to open **What's new**, a short explanation of what changed, and scroll down for earlier versions.
