# Risk heatmap

One view of every risk in Ruler, plotted by probability and impact.

The **Risk heatmap** shows all risks that have been added to Ruler, plotted on a chart of probability against impact. The chart gives you a quick read of your risk profile; the list below it gives the detail.

## Filtering

Use the dropdowns at the top to narrow the heatmap:

* **Net risks**, **Gross risks** or **Accepted**: which scores to plot
* **Risk types**: show only risks in a certain risk category
* **Risk assessments**: show only risks from a certain risk assessment

You can also search by keyword.

## The list

Below the chart, each risk is listed with its name, risk type, the risk assessment it belongs to and the date it was created. Click a risk to open the risk assessment it is part of and edit it.

Risk categories, and the labels on the probability and impact axes, are defined by your administrator under [Risk settings](/administration/risk-settings.md).
