# Sources

Sources is the unfiltered view of everything Ruler monitors, whether or not it applies to you.

Before an alert reaches your Inbox, Ruler's editors have looked at the themes, topics and radar items to decide whether the change is relevant to your organisation. **Sources**, at the bottom of the menu, shows you the material behind that decision: all legislation, regulation, news and case law from every source Ruler monitors, including items the editors did not consider relevant to you.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The information in Sources is not filtered for your type of institution. Use it as a reference library, not as a to-do list.
{% endhint %}

Sources has two pages:

| Page                                                     | What it holds                                                                                 |
| -------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Laws and regulations](/sources/laws-and-regulations.md) | The full text of every law and regulation in Ruler, kept up to date automatically |
| [News and case law](/sources/news-and-case-law.md) | Every news item and ruling Ruler has collected, for the financial and the other laws profiles |

Which sources Ruler monitors, how often they are checked, and how to report a source you think is missing is explained in [How Ruler's content is produced](/about-ruler/editorial-process.md).
